Digitising Video Tapes

Old VHS tapes or camcorder tapes often contain some of the most important moments in a family's history, birthdays, holidays, weddings and everyday memories.

At Cherish Me, we digitise tapes using professional broadcast workflows, ensuring your footage is preserved with the highest possible quality before any restoration takes place.

Unlike many high-volume services that capture directly to compressed formats, we first create a high-quality archival master, preserving the full signal before processing.

From there we can restore colour, stabilise footage, and create modern viewing copies that work beautifully on today’s TVs, laptops and mobile devices.

Tribute & Legacy Films

Turn Old Photos and Home Videos into Lasting Tribute and Memory Films

Family photographs, home videos and old camcorder tapes often hold decades of memories, but they can become scattered across albums, phones or ageing formats. We help bring those memories together into beautifully crafted films that celebrate the people, stories and moments that shaped a life.

Many families first encounter tribute films as simple slideshows shown during funeral services. These are often created quickly for the ceremony itself and can feel limited. At Cherish Me, we create more carefully crafted films, often produced after the service, when families have time to reflect and gather the memories that truly tell the story of a life.

Alongside these Tribute Films, we also create Legacy Films and Family Films, which are something quite different in purpose. These are created while loved ones are still with us, capturing stories, reflections and personal messages for the future.

Imagine hearing your grandfather tell the story of how he met your grandmother, or your mother sharing the lessons she learned throughout her life. These are the stories that often disappear over time. A legacy film allows those voices and memories to be preserved for generations to come.

In many ways, it’s the opposite of tracing family history later in life. Instead of trying to piece together the past, families can choose to record it while the memories are still fresh, creating something future generations will one day treasure.

For some families, that means a tribute film remembering someone they’ve lost. For others, it might be a grandparent recording stories and reflections for their grandchildren - an indelible message that lasts a lifetime.‍ ‍

Photographs

We specialise in high-quality scanning of your old photographs, helping to preserve them from further decay and making it easier to share with family or friends.

No longer will the photographs only end up in one place.

  • We use high-end professional flatbed scanners, avoiding consumer automatic-feeder scans, which often leave marks on your digital copies and can damage the photographs.

  • We can crop and apply light restoration, tear repair, or lost details - especially handy for very old and faded photographs.

  • We capture at 300-600 dpi, unless the photographs are really small.

  • Authenticity is important to us - we never use AI models that can alter critical details like faces or key details, ensuring your photographs remain true to the original memory.

  • Once digitised, it’s incredibly easy to duplicate and share, protecting the legacy of the images and avoiding loss or further damage.

  • Photographs are delivered as TIFF masters as well as seperate folder with JPEG copies.

  • Restoration is never automated at the point of capture and is always handled carefully by hand. Many automated systems apply the same correction to every image, but we prefer a lighter touch that respects the original photograph.

Audio

Old audio recordings often hold some of the most personal memories, voices, conversations, music, and moments captured on cassette tapes or other formats.

At Cherish Me, we carefully digitise your recordings using high-quality professional decks from Nakamichi and Yamaha. This ensures the best possible transfer from the source.

Once captured, we can gently improve the clarity of the recording, using professional broadcast-grade audio tools. This may include reducing background hiss, balancing levels, and cleaning minor imperfections where possible.

The goal is not to alter the character of the recording, but to make it easier to listen to and preserve for the future.

Where possible we can:

• reduce background hiss and tape noise
• remove electrical hum or unwanted noises
• balance volume levels for clearer playback
• repair minor clicks or dropouts
• optimise recordings so voices are easier to hear

You receive a high-quality archival file that can be easily played on phones, laptops or smart speakers.
