Audio Digitising

Preserving Voices, Music and Personal Memories

Old audio recordings often hold some of the most personal memories of all — voices, conversations, family messages, music, and moments captured on cassette tapes or other analogue formats.

These recordings can fade over time as tapes deteriorate or playback equipment becomes harder to find. Digitising them allows those memories to be preserved and shared again.

At Cherish Me, we carefully digitise audio recordings using high-quality playback equipment, including professional cassette decks from Nakamichi and Yamaha. These decks are known for their precision and gentle tape handling, helping ensure the best possible transfer from the original recording.

Once captured, we can gently improve the clarity of the audio using professional broadcast-grade restoration tools. The aim is not to dramatically change the recording, but to make it easier and more comfortable to listen to while preserving its original character.

Where possible we can:

  • reduce background hiss and tape noise

  • remove electrical hum or unwanted interference

  • balance volume levels for clearer playback

  • repair minor clicks or dropouts

  • optimise recordings so voices are easier to hear

Many families choose to preserve recordings such as:

  • interviews with parents or grandparents

  • spoken family histories

  • old music recordings or performances

  • cassette recordings from the 1980s and 1990s

  • voice messages and personal reflections

Once digitised, your recordings are delivered as high-quality digital audio files that can be easily played on phones, computers, smart speakers and modern audio systems.

For families who wish to do more with their recordings, audio can also be incorporated into tribute films, legacy films or family memory projects, allowing voices and stories to become part of a wider family archive.
