Sometimes Those Memories Deserve to be Told as a Story
Tribute Films
Remembering a Life, Sharing a Story
Many families first encounter tribute films as simple slideshows shown during funeral services. These are often created quickly for the ceremony itself and can feel limited.
At Cherish Me, we create more carefully crafted tribute films, often produced after the service, when families have time to reflect and gather the memories that truly tell the story of a life.
A tribute film might include:
Family photographs
Home Video Clips
Restored VHS footage
Press clippings
Meaningful music - licensed for home use, or..
Bespoke music - we can create that for you
Personal audio messages, narration or captions
Certificates and awards
These films become more than a slideshow; they become a story that celebrates a life and allows families to remember, reflect and share those memories.
Unlike traditional photo albums, which often stay tucked away on a shelf, a tribute film can be shared easily with friends and family and revisited for years to come.
Prices start from £250 for a tribute film using around 40 to 60 photographs, with music, narration and personal messages. Packages are tailored for additional video, restoration of old tapes/film, and longer films with more music.
Legacy Films
A Gift for Today, A Legacy for Tomorrow
Some families choose to create these films while loved ones are still with them.
A Legacy Film allows parents or grandparents to record their stories, reflections, and life experiences, capturing the moments and lessons that might otherwise be lost over time.
Imagine hearing your grandfather tell the story of how he met your grandmother, or your mother sharing the lessons she learned throughout her life.
These are the stories that often disappear as generations pass. A legacy film allows those voices and memories to be preserved for generations to come.
For grandchildren and future family members, it becomes something deeply meaningful - an indelible message that lasts a lifetime.
Legacy films are often longer and more personal, built around recorded reflections and family stories, and supported by photographs and home video clips from different stages of life. They are often the most personal projects we create, preserving stories and voices that might otherwise be lost to time.
Prices start at £400 and can include around 60 to 100 photographs, narration, music, and personal messages. They can also include short video clips and are typically 8 to 15 minutes long.
Family Films
Stories to Share Across Generations
Not every memory film is about loss or legacy. Many families simply want to celebrate a chapter of life:
A child’s early years
A family journey
Milestones and celebrations
The life of a much-loved pet
As parents, we often wonder how best to leave something meaningful behind for our children. A film created today, blending snapshots, favourite moments, and even a personal message, perhaps a message from the grandparents that lasts a lifetime, becomes a gift that can be shared across the whole family, not just tucked away in one album or hard drive.
As children grow and start their own families, these films remind them of your love and the roots they come from. Because love speaks louder with time, your voice and presence can remain a source of strength and connection for generations.
Family films typically include around 40 to 70 photographs or clips from mobile phones, and one or two music tracks, creating a short film of anything from 4 to 10 minutes. Prices start from £300, depending on the length of the story and the materials included.
The Process
Creating these films is a simple and thoughtful process.
Families gather the materials that represent the story, photographs, short video clips, voice recordings or written reflections. We then carefully restore and arrange those memories into a film that flows naturally with music and beautiful visual transitions.
Old photographs can be enhanced and restored, and footage from VHS tapes or camcorder recordings can be digitised and incorporated into the story, bringing forgotten memories back into the film.
What Might a Film Include?
Every film is different, but many follow a simple and natural structure. For example:
Opening - A favourite photograph, quote, or message that introduces the person or story.
Early Years - Childhood memories, early photographs and the beginnings of the journey.
Life & Milestones - Family life, friendships, holidays and important moments.
Reflections - Stories, messages, or memories shared by the person themselves or by family members.
Closing Message - A final photograph, quote, or message that captures the spirit of the story.
Music has a powerful way of unlocking memory.
For some films, we create a gentle bespoke musical theme that reflects the story's tone. Sometimes that might be a quiet piano piece, a warm acoustic guitar, or a soft cinematic score that supports the images without overwhelming them.
Some films may require chosen commercial music. We can license this for your personal use at home, and we can advise you if you wish to publish anything online. We can also provide as an extra, what we call in the industry a “submaster” version, which is just the video without any additional elements like music. There is no further charge for submaster versions.
The aim is always the same, to let the memories breathe while creating a film that feels personal, thoughtful and timeless.
Some films are joyful celebrations of life, others are quiet reflections or personal messages for the future. Every film we create is unique to the family and the memories it preserves.
“This sounds lovely… but I’m not sure I have enough photos or material.”
Don’t Worry if You Don’t Have Many Photos
Many families worry they may not have enough material to create a film. In reality, even a small number of photographs can become a beautiful tribute.
A short film can be created from as few as 20–30 photographs, especially when combined with music, captions, or short video clips from phones or camcorders.
Old or faded photographs can often be restored and enhanced, and we can help guide you on what works best when gathering your memories.
Sometimes the most meaningful films are made from the simplest moments.
